Deploying national defense work in 2025

BHG - On the morning of February 21, the Ministry of National Defense held a national online conference to review the National Defense work in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025. Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army chaired the conference. Attending the conference at the Provincial Military Command bridge were comrade Vuong Ngoc Ha, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

In 2024, the Ministry of National Defense closely coordinated with central and local departments, ministries and branches to grasp, assess and forecast the situation correctly, so the National Defense work continued to comprehensively complete the set plan targets. The whole country organized training on National Defense and security knowledge for over 406,000 subjects and over 3 million students. The combination of socio-economic development with National Defense and Security was closely ensured; the strength, potential and position of National Defense were strengthened; the strength to protect the Fatherland was enhanced, creating a peaceful and stable environment for national development. In Ha Giang province, 100% of militia and self-defense bases were organized for district training; 47 communes, wards and towns in the defense area organized combat exercises according to regulations. The organization of the handover of 950 citizens ensured absolute safety. The work of fostering national defense and security knowledge for subjects 2 and 3 met the targets assigned by the Military Region and exceeded the targets of the province. The awareness and responsibility of cadres, party members and people of all walks of life towards national defense and security tasks were raised, contributing to maintaining political stability in the area.

Concluding the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, emphasized the tasks and solutions to effectively carry out the National Defense tasks in 2025. It is necessary to focus on strengthening the Party's leadership and State management of National Defense and military ; be proactive, sensitive, improve research capacity, and accurately forecast strategic issues that directly impact national defense and military tasks. It is necessary to continue to well implement the policy of combining National Defense and Security with socio-economic development.
