In the first 6 months of the year, there were 135 traffic accidents in the province, killing 39 people, injuring 146 people, and causing property damage of more than 289 million VND. Compared to the same period in 2023, there were 39 more cases, 15 fewer deaths, 75 more injuries, and 29.5 million VND in property damage. Traffic safety work was promptly organized and implemented by departments, branches, sectors, units, and localities with tasks and solutions in each locality and management field; propaganda, dissemination,and education of traffic safety laws were promoted. The authorities maintained coordination in implementing and handling cases related to traffic safety violations; inspection, patrol, and control work was focused on. The provincial traffic police force organized 5,396 patrols, detected and recorded 12,926 violations. The maintenance and repair of traffic infrastructure, and the removal of “black spots” and potential traffic accident spots on the roads were reviewed and promptly handled.

In the remaining months of 2024, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee requested departments, branches and localities to continue to strengthen propaganda and mobilization work to encourage the entire population to comply with the Law on Road, Railway and Inland Waterway Traffic; Traffic Safety Committees of districts and cities to strengthen inspection, supervision, review of traffic accident situations and analyze causes to promptly propose to the Chairman of the People's Committee at the same level to direct the implementation of remedial measures. Functional forces should increase patrols and controls, promptly detect and strictly handle violations of traffic safety; tighten discipline in training, testing, granting driving licenses, management, technical safety inspection and environmental protection for road motor vehicles and inland waterway vehicles. Continue to review and recommend the Ministry of Transport to handle shortcomings in traffic infrastructure, black spots, and traffic safety loss locations that still exist on National Highway 1 and National Highway 27 through the province.
