At the conference, the leader of the Ministry of Information and Communications said that according to the world's assessment, Vietnam's digital economic growth rate has gradually increased over the years, ranking first in Southeast Asia. Up to now, it is estimated that the proportion of the digital economy in Vietnam's GDP will reach 16.5% in 2023 and 18.5% by June 2024... The National Digital Transformation Index (DTI) has increased steadily over the years, reaching 0.71 points by 2022; component indexes on Digital Government, Digital Economy and Digital Society still maintain a high growth rate of 45% - 55%.
Comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the conference at the Ninh Thuan province bridge.
Regarding the settlement of administrative procedures and provision of online public services for people and businesses, if in 2019 it only reached nearly 11%, from 2020 up to now there has been a breakthrough growth, reaching 55% to date, 5 times higher than the whole period before 2020; the rate of online records in 2019 was only about 5%, at present, this rate has reached 43% (an increase of more than 8 times).
Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended and appreciated the participation and drastic direction of ministries, branches, localities, the support of the business community and people in implementing the digital transformation policy in the past time. The Prime Minister requested that Ministers, heads of branches, and Chairmen of People's Committees of centrally-run provinces and cities take the lead and set an example in promoting digital transformation with the highest determination to effectively carry out the following tasks: Developing digital human resources, digital citizens, digital skills and digital talents. Prioritizing resources for digital transformation, for developing digital economy , digital society, digital citizens, and digital government. Developing comprehensive, appropriate, economical, and effective digital infrastructure. Management and operation must be digitalized. Urgently perfecting mechanisms, policies, and institutions for digital transformation in the direction of enhancing decentralization, decentralization, promoting creativity and initiative of all levels and branches. The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to carry out assigned tasks, "leaving no one behind" in the national digital transformation process; not using cash, moving towards all transactions through electronic methods to prevent and combat corruption and harassment; no paperwork, moving towards digitalization and not letting people and businesses waste time, effort and money. In the coming time, each ministry, branch and locality needs to improve the effectiveness of digital transformation, strive to successfully carry out assigned tasks, ensuring the harmony of interests between the State, people and businesses.
