After many days of waiting, recently, artisan Dinh Van Tam (born in 1990, residing in Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri ) - the "father" of the tiger and cat mascots that caused a "fever" in previous years, introduced to the people of Quang Tri the dragon mascot for the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024.
This dragon mascot was ordered by the People's Committee of Lao Bao town, Huong Hoa district (Quang Tri) in early October 2023. After 3 months of construction, the dragon mascot was officially completed and the author published the first images.

The dragon mascot is about 4.5m tall, has a winding body about 7m long, and weighs about 500kg. At the foot of the dragon statue is a golden ball, symbolizing the fortune that the dragon brings to the people.
To complete the dragon mascot, the team of workers used plastic to make dragon scales, the dragon's body inside was made of iron bars surrounded by a net, the dragon's belly was made of plaster. The dragon's parts were all designed quite meticulously, with eye-catching colors, the rocks were made of foam, shaped, and colored eye-catchingly.

The dragon's head is "breathed" into majesty and bravery by artisan Tam, true to the spirit of the four sacred animals: dragon - unicorn - turtle - phoenix.
According to artisan Dinh Van Tam, the dragon mascot statue was commissioned based on the idea of a dragon landing on a rocky mountain. According to Mr. Tam, the reason is because this dragon statue will be displayed in the mountainous town of Lao Bao.

Artisan Tam and his colleagues are preparing to transport the dragon mascot to Lao Bao town's central park for display, serving people to admire and take photos on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin.
