Black Myth: Wukong copycat game appears
Wukong Sun: Black Legend , a 2D action game scheduled to launch on the eShop on December 26, is facing a wave of criticism from the Chinese online community. Many believe that this game is deliberately 'cheating', taking advantage of the popularity of Black Myth by using a similar name and image.
Although it shares the same origin as the novel Journey to the West , Wukong Sun: Black Legend is considered to be far inferior to Black Myth: Wukong in both graphics and gameplay. While Black Myth is a AAA blockbuster with top-notch 3D graphics, Black Legend is just a simple 2D game priced at $7.99.
This incident once again raises concerns about the problem of 'copycat' games on the eShop. Previously, the creative director of the indie game Unpacking also criticized Nintendo for not taking action against Unpacking -like games on this platform.
Currently, neither Nintendo nor Global Game Studio (developer of Wukong Sun: Black Legend ) have given an official response to the incident.
