Special exhibition on 100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism in Quang Tri

NDO - On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day and the 53rd anniversary of the Liberation of Quang Tri Day; the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day; the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association, on the morning of April 9, in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province, the Vietnam Press Museum in coordination with the Quang Tri Provincial Journalists Association organized the opening of the thematic exhibition "Vietnam Revolutionary Press: A century of fighting and pride in Quang Tri press".

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province Nguyen Dang Quang; Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi; Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association in charge of the South Tran Trong Dung attended.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province Nguyen Dang Quang said that Quang Tri - a sacred land, the heart of the sunny and windy central region, known as the land of steel, has suffered countless pains and losses in the wars of national liberation and national reunification.

During the years of resistance against the US, Quang Tri was a fierce battlefield where journalists bravely rushed into battle, recorded historical moments, and truthfully conveyed the resilient fight of our army and people.

Images and articles from the Quang Tri battlefield not only encourage the fighting spirit of soldiers and people, but also become vivid evidence of the nation's patriotism and indomitable spirit.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province Nguyen Dang Quang spoke.

Over the past 97 years, since the establishment of Phan Dau newspaper in 1928, Quang Tri provincial press has always accompanied the revolutionary struggles, excellently performing the role of encouraging the spirit, together with the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Tri to overcome difficulties and challenges in the cause of building and defending the country as well as in the reconstruction, innovation and development.

The glorious history of Quang Tri journalism is a solid foundation, creating important momentum for the province's journalism to continue to develop in the new era, the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.

Delegates visited the exhibition booth of artifacts and press publications.

The thematic exhibition space introduced many valuable artifacts and press documents such as: the original Thanh Nien newspaper founded by President Ho Chi Minh , the first issues of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Magazine, Quang Tri Giai Phong and the first issues of revolutionary press agencies.

These valuable and useful documents help journalists as well as cadres, party members and people of Quang Tri understand more deeply and be proud of the history, traditions and achievements of the Vietnamese revolutionary press, the revolutionary press of Quang Tri province and the great contributions of generations of journalists.

Delegates visited the exhibition booth of artifacts and press publications.

At the ceremony, the Quang Tri Provincial Journalists Association presented 10 gifts to relatives of 10 martyr journalists from Quang Tri; the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association presented 10 gifts to veteran journalists.

On this occasion, the family of the late journalist Tran Trong Ton, former Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper and Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, presented press artifacts to the Vietnam Press Museum.
