The exhibition introduces more than 200 ceramic artifacts, spread across ceramic lines with richness and diversity of types, from common artifacts commonly used in Southern families in the past to artifacts of high value in visual arts.

In particular, among these are some ceramic and kiln wood specimens collected by researchers at ancient kilns, along with many research documents on ancient Southern ceramics that are very useful for cultural researchers and antique collectors to refer to.

According to the Organizing Committee, to serve this exhibition, Tien Giang Museum received more than 200 antiques consigned by 22 antique collectors from Tien Giang and localities such as Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of An Giang, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Long An , Tien Giang, and Ben Tre.

Also on this occasion, collectors donated over 30 valuable documents and artifacts to Tien Giang Museum.

The thematic exhibition "Reunion of Ancient Southern Pottery - Tien Giang in 2025" will last until the end of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and International Labor Day on May 1.

Southern pottery is the general term that collectors today use to refer to a number of pottery lines produced in the Saigon - Cho Lon, Bien Hoa, Lai Thieu areas from the 18th to the 20th century. However, in terms of space, "Southern pottery" includes indigenous pottery types born in many localities in the region, with a historical age that can reach thousands of years.

The characteristics of Southern pottery are simplicity, rusticity, closeness to daily life such as household items, worship items... However, there are also types of pottery that have high technical level and aesthetic value such as worship statues, decorations in communal houses, pagodas, shrines...
