According to the results of 2023, Western countries no longer hold the first positions among the Russian Federation's trade partners. The top three positions belong to China, India and Türkiye.

According to the Federal Customs Service, the total turnover of Russian goods in 2023 reached 710.1 billion USD. Of this, 51% belonged to Asian countries, European countries (23%), Middle Eastern countries (11%), neighboring countries (8%), Americas (4%) and Africa (3%).

China is the leader in trade with Russia with a value of goods exchanged of 240.1 billion USD.

India jumped from 5th place to 2nd place with 64.9 billion USD (1.8 times increase), in which oil exports from Russia to India doubled. Türkiye ranked third with 56.5 billion USD.

Together with Belarus and Kazakhstan, these five countries account for 60% of Russia's total merchandise turnover in 2023.

Russia's next top 5 trading partners include Germany, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Brazil and the Netherlands.

On March 7, German MEP Gunnar Beck told the Izvestia daily that Russia will not be on the list of the European Union's (EU) 10 main trading partners in 2024.

In Asia, the top three partners are China, India and South Korea. In addition, Japan and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (China) also conducted $9.7 billion and $5.9 billion in trade with the Russian Federation.

In Africa, Egypt leads with $5.5 billion, up 40% over the past year. The Middle East countries that are Russia's largest trading partners include Türkiye, the UAE, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

In South America and North America, in addition to Brazil, Russia also has large trade turnover with the US (5.5 billion USD), Mexico (2.2 billion USD) and Ecuador (1.1 billion USD)./.
