The sports festival had the participation of 418 athletes from 19 delegations from military regions, army corps, and branches throughout the army.

The sports festival aims to evaluate the results of the dissemination and implementation of the Law on Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue; documents of the Government, the Ministry of National Defense , and the General Staff on fire prevention and fighting; the level of command organization, skills in using fire fighting equipment and means; the ability to rescue people and property in case of fire.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh delivered the opening speech at the 2025 Army Fire Prevention and Fighting Sports Festival.

The competition contents include: Fire truck formation competition with 2 nozzles B; theory competition; fire fighting sports competition combined with moving assets; fire fighting sports competition rescuing people from fires.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the sports festival, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh emphasized that in recent years, under the leadership of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, the entire army has resolutely deployed fire prevention and fighting work; prepared forces and means, proactively coordinated, cooperated and effectively handled fire and explosion situations occurring inside and outside the army, contributing significantly to minimizing human and property damage caused by fire and explosion, which has been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government and people.

To achieve the above results, officers and soldiers of the entire army have constantly strived, studied, and trained to improve their qualifications and skills to be ready to respond and maintain high combat readiness for fire and explosion situations in any circumstances.

The sports festival is organized with highly practical and training competitions, contributing to improving the quality of training, physical training, capacity, qualifications and skills for officers and soldiers of participating delegations. On that basis, comprehensive experience is drawn from the work of organizing forces, professional training, using equipment and coordinating and cooperating in handling fire and explosion situations.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh requested the organizing committee and the jury to uphold their responsibility in organizing and operating the sports festival; work democratically, objectively, impartially, and accurately and practically evaluate the results of each competition of the teams and athletes.

Teams and athletes need to thoroughly understand the purpose, meaning and requirements of the sports festival; uphold the spirit of responsibility, overcome difficulties, unite, strictly comply with the sports festival regulations, maintain discipline; ensure safety; be calm, confident, demonstrate the best level, ability, and determination to strive for the highest achievements.

The sports festival is expected to end on May 29.
