The Pharmacy Department at USTH aims to train and equip students with in-depth pharmaceutical knowledge and practical experience, in order to provide a source of high-quality pharmacists for the healthcare industry.

In response to the practical needs of the pharmaceutical labor market and based on USTH's strengths in extensive cooperation with leading partners in France and support from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and large hospitals and pharmaceutical enterprises in Hanoi, in 2023, USTH will open a Pharmacy major focusing on training high-quality human resources for two fields: Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Industry.

Modern facilities for Pharmacy at USTH.

The Pharmacy program at USTH lasts 5 years. Students learn theory closely combined with practice through a variety of internship activities, especially professional internships at hospitals or pharmaceutical companies. 70% of the program will be taught in English to equip students with proficient foreign language skills so they can confidently enter the global labor market.

The program with modern, updated knowledge provides opportunities for exchange with foreign institutions and is taught by a team of leading lecturers and experts. USTH also invests in modern facilities with a system of laboratories and advanced equipment to meet quality standards for training and in-depth research in the pharmaceutical field.

Pharmacy students will learn theory closely combined with practice at USTH.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, USTH said: “USTH has experience in implementing international training programs in the field of basic science related to health such as biotechnology - drug development, biomedical science and technology, which is a solid foundation for opening applied training majors such as Pharmacy. We are committed to building an integrated, in-depth curriculum and a network of domestic and international practice partners to equip future pharmacists with knowledge, attitudes and skills before entering the global labor market”.

The Pharmacy major will start enrolling students from 2023 through two admission methods: Admission based on the results of the competency assessment test organized by the School and admission based on the results of the high school graduation exam (Major code: 7720201). The enrollment target for 2023 is 30 students.
