Colonel Nie Ta, Commander of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command, was present at the scene from early morning on November 7, directing officers and soldiers to help the people, saying: "The Dak Lak Provincial Military Command quickly mobilized officers and soldiers of the regular army, militia and self-defense forces to coordinate with the police and local authorities to help people clean up, repair and rebuild their houses, demonstrating the spirit of "sacrificing oneself for the people" of Uncle Ho's soldiers."

At Phu My Residential Group, Song Cau Ward, where the storm caused heavy damage, the images of Uncle Ho's soldiers wading through water, climbing ladders to the roofs, collecting each sheet of corrugated iron, each piece of wood, and raking mud from families... left a deep impression on the people. Not only overcoming the consequences, the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command also coordinated with the Party Committee, the government and organizations to visit, encourage and support severely affected households.

Ms. Doan Thi Lanh (79 years old), a resident of Song Cau ward, emotionally said: “I live alone, my children all work far away, the storms and mud flooded the house, I am sick and weak so I cannot clean. Luckily, the soldiers came in time to help me rake the mud and clean the house. I really don’t know what to say other than thank you!”

Right from the moment the unit commander thoroughly grasped and assigned the task, determining that this is a task, an order from the heart of a soldier, so we are always enthusiastic to help the people with the highest sense of responsibility.”

Storm No. 13 has passed, leaving behind considerable damage to people's property and livelihoods, but in difficult times, the image of the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army always shines brighter than ever, simple yet noble, quiet yet resilient. They are the solid support and trust of the people in times of natural disasters. As a resident of Song Cau ward said when seeing off the troops who came to help: "The storm will eventually pass, but the hearts of the soldiers will forever stay with us!"
