Strategic cooperation to support the development of high-quality human resources for the pharmaceutical industry

On December 10, in Ho Chi Minh City, Merck Healthcare Vietnam Co., Ltd. (referred to as Merck Healthcare Vietnam) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City.

This event marks a new step forward in Merck Healthcare Vietnam's commitment to supporting the development of high-quality human resources for the Vietnamese healthcare industry, while contributing to the overall progress of society.

The content of the cooperation agreement is designed to provide financial support while providing practical training programs to improve the quality of education as well as facilitate students in career development.

The cooperation program is expected to last for 3 years (2024 - 2026). Cooperation activities include: scholarship sponsorship (each year Merck Healthcare Vietnam will grant 20 scholarships worth 10,000,000 VND/scholarship to students); internship program (each year Merck Healthcare Vietnam will receive 5 - 10 interns at the company); organizing career orientation events; office and pharmacy tours (Merck Healthcare Vietnam will organize two field trips per year to the company's office and pharmacy, with a maximum of 20 students per trip).

Ms. Ghislaine Dondellinger, General Director of Merck Healthcare Vietnam Co., Ltd. said: "We believe that this cooperation will contribute positively to the development of human resources in the healthcare sector in Vietnam. By providing quality training programs and practical opportunities, Merck will accompany the Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City to create opportunities for students to become competent healthcare professionals, ready to meet the challenges in the healthcare sector. This not only improves the quality of healthcare services but also contributes to improving public health, creating a healthier society."

Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Dao, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City, shared: "Through support activities such as scholarships, internship programs and career guidance, we believe that students will have the opportunity not only to develop professionally but also to access a professional and modern working environment. This is an important factor to help them better prepare for their future career journey."
