The 2025 International Student Football Tournament – THACO Cup is the first time Cambodia has sent a university football team to an international student tournament. The name that was carefully chosen was Life University, the current champion of Cambodian student football.

Life University made a strong impression with their technical style of play, a smooth combination of central and flank attacks, and strong physical strength. After an unfortunate stop in the semi-finals in a match that they played extremely well, they excellently defeated Malaysia University to win the precious bronze medal in a worthy manner.

As the founder and current President of Life University, Pastor – Dr. David Koo, who is very passionate about football, is always present in the stands of Ton Duc Thang University Stadium, not missing any match, regardless of whether his team is playing or not.

From the start we were impressed with Vietnam Airlines ' excellent service, comfortable accommodation and thoughtful, delicious meals.

From the opening ceremony to the closing ceremony, every aspect of the tournament was prepared and conducted to international standards, enabling our student athletes to compete with pride and represent their country with honor.”

Also, in the process of developing his educational career in Cambodia, Mr. David Koo and his colleagues always develop football in parallel with training knowledge for young people, from elementary to university level, each has its own football team.

The long-standing association with football is even demonstrated through Life University's sponsorship, helping Life FC become the first football team from Preah Sihanouk province to compete professionally in the Cambodian Premier League.

“We would like to particularly emphasize the fairness and professionalism of the referees, whose judgments enhance the quality and integrity of the tournament,” he stressed. “For the Life University Cambodia team, this is the first time we have participated in an international tournament.
