Recently, many parents have been upset about the fact that many primary and secondary schools in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have included joint classes in their regular school schedules. Although these are extra classes and are voluntary, many parents do not dare not "voluntarily". These joint classes put a heavy financial burden on parents, with each student who fully participates in the joint classes having to pay an additional VND300,000-700,000/month.
In response to this reflection, the Ministry of Education and Training said that implementing regulations on extracurriculareducational activities and the policy of socializing education, localities have deployed many activities such as life skills education; linking foreign language teaching, enhanced computer teaching; experiential activities outside of school... according to the needs of learners at preschool, general and continuing education institutions.
These activities have contributed to consolidating and improving knowledge, skills and comprehensive personality education for learners. However, the management of extracurricular educational activities is still limited, leading to concerns, worries and creating negative public opinion about this type of activity.
To enhance management efficiency and ensure the rights of teachers, students and trainees, the Ministry of Education and Training requests that the Departments of Education and Training strengthen management and direct educational institutions to strictly implement current regulations on linking, organizing and implementing extracurricular educational activities according to learners' needs.
Departments of Education and Training report on the implementation of extracurricular educational activities in their localities, including: Direction of the Department of Education and Training; implementation at educational institutions; assessment of advantages and difficulties; proposals, recommendations and data synthesis, and report to the Ministry before October 15, 2023.
