Vocational schools have high graduation rates

Speaking to reporters on the afternoon of July 18, Master Nguyen Dang Ly, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City International College (Binh Tan District), said that this is the 7th consecutive year the school has had a 100% high school graduation rate.

"This year, the school has 70 candidates (college level 9+) taking the high school graduation exam. After statistics, the school has 36 candidates with high scores (over 8 points) in all subjects. This is the best achievement the school has ever achieved" - Master Ly said.

The school's valedictorian is Tran Gia Bao, with scores of 8.6 in math, 8 in literature, 9.2 in English, 7.75 in history, and 8.75 in geography.

Gia Bao was admitted early to the International University (VNU-HCM) and plans to study information technology.

The rate of high school graduates from vocational education centers and vocational schools is increasing.

Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Nhai, Deputy Director of the Tan Binh District Continuing Education Center, said that the center has 756 students registered for the exam, of which 749 are qualified to graduate from high school, this year's graduation rate is 99.07%.

"Student Tran Tuan Hiep got the highest score of 28 in block C00. The highest score in block A00 was 25.3, block B was 24.1. The test results of students with many high scores prove that the quality of training in the GDTX system is increasingly improving" - Ms. Nhai commented.

Mr. Luu Thanh Tong, Director of the Tan Phu District Continuing Education Center, informed that this year's graduation rate reached 99.8%. Students taking exams in social sciences (literature, history, geography, civic education ) had higher average scores than those in natural sciences.

According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, there were 84,046 candidates taking the high school graduation exam, including 74,581 high school students, 9,465 continuing education students and independent candidates. According to the results announced by the Ministry of Education and Training on July 17, Ho Chi Minh City had a high school graduation rate of 99.68%, of which continuing education students reached 97.39%.
