Posthumous certificate of merit for brave man who saved drowning child

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Dung district, Bac Giang province, posthumously awarded a certificate of merit to Mr. Tran Van Trong (born in 1994) in Thuong village, Dong Viet commune for his bravery in saving a drowning child.

Earlier on the afternoon of June 5, Mr. Tran Van Trong saw two children struggling. drowning on the Thuong River in Thuong village, Dong Viet commune immediately jumped into the river to save.

Mr. Trong then saved Trinh Phan Bao Minh (born in 2015) and brought him to shore. Mr. Trong continued to swim into the river to save the second child who was drowning. However, due to exhaustion, both Mr. Trong and the child went missing.

Upon receiving the report from the people, the People's Committee of Dong Viet Commune mobilized the people to coordinate with the District Police to participate in the search. At about 11:45 p.m. the same day, the bodies of Mr. Trong and the child were found and handed over to the family for burial.
