This is a key activity to promote the image and value of Ngoc Linh ginseng - a rare ginseng species known as the "national treasure" of Vietnam; at the same time, creating an environment for domestic and international connection and cooperation in the development of the ginseng and medicinal herbs industry, associated with the development of eco-tourism, community economy and investment promotion in Quang Nam province.
The festival is an opportunity to affirm the Ngoc Linh ginseng brand on the world medicinal map and to implement the goals of the Vietnam Ginseng Development Program to 2030, with a vision to 2045 according to Decision No. 611/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.
With the theme “Ngoc Linh Ginseng (Vietnamese Ginseng) and International Medicinal Herbs - Connecting Values and Affirming Vietnamese Brands”, the festival will gather about 500 delegates including leaders of the Government, ministries, central agencies, international organizations, scientists , businesses and representatives of localities with strengths in ginseng and medicinal herbs at home and abroad.
The highlight of the festival is the opening ceremony taking place at 7:30 p.m. on August 1 at 24/3 Square, Tam Ky City; including the official ceremony, the ginseng procession and a special art program broadcast live on QRT.
Throughout the 3 days of the event, many diverse activities will be held such as: Exhibition of Ngoc Linh ginseng space, medicinal herbs, OCOP products, cuisine and traditional craft villages; international scientific conference "Ngoc Linh ginseng - From national product to global brand"; marathon or trail running, international golf tournament of Ngoc Linh ginseng, ginseng experience tour in Tra Linh commune (Nam Tra My); songwriting contest about Ngoc Linh ginseng, along with many cultural and artistic exchange activities and investment promotion.
In particular, the scientific conference is an opportunity for managers, experts, businesses and investors in the pharmaceutical field to discuss and sign cooperation agreements, thereby realizing the goal of building Quang Nam into a pharmaceutical industry center of the country, with Ngoc Linh ginseng as the main crop.
