The provincial health sector said that there is currently no vaccine for hand, foot and mouth disease, but it is an infectious disease that spreads quickly and can easily become an epidemic. The disease is common in young children, especially those under 5 years old. Typical symptoms of the disease are fever, sore throat, mouth pain, mouth ulcers with red ulcers or blisters on the oral mucosa, gums, tongue, and blister-like rash on the palms, soles, knees, and buttocks. The disease can cause dangerous complications such as encephalitis, meningitis, myocarditis, acute pulmonary edema and lead to death if not detected early and treated promptly.
The provincial health sector recommends that to prevent the disease, people need to: Wash hands regularly; ensure that children's food is nutritious, clean, cooked, and boiled; clean the house and toys regularly; children's feces and waste must be collected, treated, and dumped into hygienic toilets; monitor children's health daily; when children show signs of illness, isolate them and take them immediately to medical facilities for examination and treatment.
