Last week, Hanoi recorded 150 Covid-19 cases

According to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC Hanoi), last week (from May 30 to June 6), the whole city recorded 150 Covid-19 cases, a decrease of 6 cases compared to the previous week.

Thus, since the beginning of the year, Hanoi has recorded a total of 558 Covid-19 cases, down from the same period in 2024 (667 cases). Currently, Hanoi CDC continues to strengthen medical quarantine work at Noi Bai International Airport, in order to promptly detect suspected or infected cases, and apply appropriate and timely epidemic prevention and control measures.

Along with that, continue to promote information and propaganda about the epidemic situation and measures to prevent Covid-19 and summer diseases.

During the week, Hanoi CDC recorded 6 cases of dengue fever, down 3 cases compared to the previous week. In 2025, the city recorded 271 cases of dengue fever, down compared to the same period in 2024 (745 cases). Patients were recorded sporadically in 28 districts, towns and cities. In the coming time, Hanoi CDC believes that the number of dengue fever cases may increase due to the beginning of the months when the disease increases every year.

Regarding measles, 168 cases of measles were recorded in 25 districts this week, a decrease of 7 cases compared to the previous week. Some units recorded many patients such as Long Bien (16), Ha Dong (14), Hoang Mai (13), Nam Tu Liem (13), Dong Da (11).


According to the Hanoi CDC, the number of cases is on a downward trend, mainly in people who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated, and it is forecasted that cases will continue to be recorded in the coming time. Thus, since the beginning of the year, Hanoi has recorded 3,197 measles cases in 30 districts, towns and cities, including 1 death.

Regarding hand, foot and mouth disease, the city recorded 103 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease in 22 districts, towns and cities during the week, down 60 cases compared to the previous week. Some units recorded many patients such as Ha Dong (17), Nam Tu Liem (12), Thanh Tri (9), Hai Ba Trung (8), Son Tay (8). Notably, Hanoi CDC recorded 01 outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease in Trung Van, Nam Tu Liem (2 cases).

Notably, during the week, the Hanoi CDC recorded 1 case of Streptococcus suis in a 73-year-old female patient (Long Bien district), who sells pig intestines at home every day. The patient started the disease on May 31 with symptoms of fever, headache, vomiting, and drowsiness, and was admitted to Bach Mai Hospital on June 2. The cerebrospinal fluid culture result was positive for Streptococcus suis. In 2025, the CDC recorded 3 cases of Streptococcus suis.


Notably, during the week, Hanoi CDC served the 10th grade entrance exam and national high school graduation exam in Hanoi in 2025, sending staff to join the inspection team on hygiene and epidemic prevention at 6 exam sites in Thanh Xuan and Tay Ho districts.

According to the Hanoi CDC, in the coming time, district, town and city health centers will continue to monitor and detect patients at decentralized medical facilities, on software systems and in the community, to promptly investigate and handle cases and outbreaks, preventing the disease from spreading widely; coordinate with districts to continue monitoring the old dengue fever outbreak in 2024 in Thuong Tin, Dong Da, Ung Hoa, Thanh Oai, Phuc Tho, Nam Tu Liem.

At the same time, promote people to proactively get vaccinated fully and on schedule and respond to additional vaccination campaigns deployed by the health sector.
