"Three-Gang Bag" Where students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Finance and Economics create a big future from a small bag

Money Day is a program organized by the Student Affairs Department, DYAC Club (Develop Your Ability Club) and students of the University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with The Moneyverse . The event provides a close-knit learning space where knowledge about personal finance is conveyed in a practical, lively and inspiring way.

The event held at UEF also had a special meaning, as a student of the school excelled in the National Top 10 of The Moneyverse 2025 – an achievement that contributed to bringing the financial festival back to this energetic and creative school.

In particular, UEF representatives also made their mark as the only team in The Moneyverse journey to present entirely in English; demonstrating the ability to integrate, global thinking and bravery of students in the new era.

Such achievements are not accidental; they are the result of an international standard training environment, where UEF students are not only equipped with solid professional knowledge, but also trained in confidence, critical thinking and practical application skills - factors that make a multi-talented, dynamic and confident young person.

Within the framework of the event, BIDV Bank – a partner of The Moneyverse – also awarded a scholarship worth 200 million VND to the school, as an encouragement for the spirit of learning. That scholarship is like "filling a three-gang bag" – adding motivation and resources for UEF students to continue their journey of conquering financial knowledge and mastering their future.

From a "small bag" to a big lesson

“Three-span bag” – sounds small, but is a metaphor for the resources and resource management ability of today’s youth. Most students have something in common: little capital but many dreams, and the journey from “empty bag” to “full bag” is never easy.

How to live comfortably without "running out of money at the end of the month"? How to enjoy youth while saving and investing for the future? The theme "Three Gang Bag" is therefore not only a story about personal finance, but also a lesson about attitude towards life: knowing how to prioritize, how to accumulate and how to use resources wisely.

MONEYTalk – When finance becomes closer and more practical

The highlight of the program is MONEYTalk "Financial Doctor", an in-depth but interactive discussion, led by journalist Duong Ngoc Trinh - who has more than 18 years of experience working at Vietnam Television in the field of economics and finance, and is also a familiar speaker in many investment programs for the young generation.

Accompanying her are Mr. Hans Nguyen - Founder of WAM Institute and EXM Wealth, an expert with over 20 years of experience working in many international financial investment corporations, including 8 years as Investment Manager at Zurich Insurance Group in Zurich (Switzerland) with total assets under management of over 5 billion CHF; Ms. Nguyen Thi Viet Ha, Deputy Director of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development - Thong Nhat Branch; and Dr. Ngo Minh Hai, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance.

The discussion took place in an exciting atmosphere, where UEF students exchanged, asked questions and shared their own financial stories. From personal spending to the first small investment choices, each topic was "dissected" with close and practical situations. From learning how to plan spending, controlling emotions in the face of "smart consumer temptations", to trying small-scale investments to better understand the value of money - all start with changes in daily habits. Through sharing and exchanging, many students realized that financial management is not the job of those who already have large assets, but an important life skill that needs to be practiced.

In particular, Mr. Hans Nguyen gave a free 1-on-1 personal financial consultation to a lucky student - as an encouragement to proactively plan finances early, invest in knowledge and your own future.

Interestingly, the selected student is only a first-year student, but surprised the whole hall when he shared that he is running a second-hand goods business and also has a side job in the real estate field. His story not only shows his confidence and basic financial thinking, but also is a vivid proof of the image of a dynamic, multi-talented and daring UEF student.

Confidently master the future

More than just a seminar, MoneyDay 2025 is also a true financial experience festival. Interactive activities, multiple choice tests and knowledge dramatization helped students learn, have fun and test their own financial management skills.

MoneyDay 2025 at UEF is not only an academic event, but also a journey to help students understand the value of money, financial discipline and personal freedom. Because when young people know how to manage their small wallet today, it is the starting point on the journey to create a big future - stable, confident and prosperous.
