From the end of this year, passengers departing Japan's capital Tokyo on international flights will be able to see the world's largest indoor Godzilla statue, measuring about 40m long and 9m high.
The statue will be placed at the departure lobby of Terminal 3, Haneda Airport.
According to the official website of Haneda Airport, this famous Japanese monster has appeared in more than 30 domestic and foreign films since the first " Godzilla " movie was broadcast in 1954.
The Godzilla statue is a collaborative project between Toho Co., the creator and producer of the hit film series, and the terminal operators of Haneda Airport.
In addition to this statue, images of Godzilla and other monsters that have appeared in the movies will be displayed above the information counter in the arrivals hall on the second floor of Terminal 3.
Along with that, a Godzilla statue from the 2024 American Oscar-winning film " Godzilla Minus One " for visual effects will also be placed in the arrival hall of the above terminal.
According to the companies implementing the project, this work is expected to be on display until December 2026.
An official involved in the project hopes that through Godzilla, a character known both at home and abroad, Haneda will increase its appeal as a center for promoting Japanese culture.
Currently, this station has a shopping area that recreates the traditional Edo period cityscape around the 17th century./.
