Commemorating the 967th anniversary of the death of Uy Minh Vuong Ly Nhat Quang

On April 14, the Party Committee, government and people of Viet Tien commune (Thach Ha, Ha Tinh ) held a ceremony to commemorate the 967th anniversary of the death of Uy Minh Vuong Ly Nhat Quang at the National Historical - Cultural Relic of Nen Temple.

Nen Temple worships Uy Minh Vuong Ly Nhat Quang - the 8th son of King Ly Thai To in Chi Phan village, Bang Chau commune, Ha Hoa district, now Phuc Loc village, Viet Tien commune, Thach Ha district.

Ly Nhat Quang was a man with great merit in opening up villages, maintaining the border, developing the economy , building the Hoan Chau border area into a solid base, creating support for many dynasties later.

He was considered by people to be intelligent, knowledgeable in geography, virtuous, talented, both literary and martial, patriotic and compassionate.

After his death (in 1057), the people of Nghe An built many temples to worship him to show their gratitude for his great contributions to his homeland and country.

Nen Temple has been renovated many times and in 2009 was ranked as a National Historical - Cultural Relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

During feudal times, every year, the Nen Temple festival was held on a grand, solemn, and dignified scale by kings, mandarins, and local people.

Since 2013, the festival has been held annually on the 6th day of the 3rd lunar month.
