Despite losing 1-4, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's students have accumulated valuable experience for the upcoming important journey in the continental arena.
Facing an opponent with good expertise and ball control (currently ranked 10th in the FIFA futsal rankings), the Vietnamese women's futsal team proactively played defensively. However, in the 13th minute, from a corner kick on the left, Eguchi Mika shot straight into the Vietnamese futsal team's goal and Ikadai Risa skillfully touched the ball to score the opening goal for Japan.
Conceding the goal, the Vietnamese girls played with more concentration to find opportunities, however, the first half ended with a score of 1-0 in favor of the home team.
The Vietnamese futsal girls could not create any surprise against the strong opponent.
In the second half, in the 21st minute, Iwasaki Yuka successfully finished, raising the score to 2-0 for Japan. The home team continued to score 2 goals in the 24th and 28th minutes.
In search of a goal, the Vietnamese women's futsal team deployed a power play tactic with 8 minutes left in the match. After many attempts to attack, with only 31 seconds left in the match, Japan's defense was broken. From a situation where the ball was brought down the sideline and coordinated a cross inside, Thu Xuan finished accurately to score an honorary goal for the Vietnamese women's futsal team.
Despite the loss, the Vietnamese women's futsal team achieved positive results when having the opportunity to test many formations and tactics to deal with different situations, aiming for the final round of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship in Inner Mongolia, China this coming May.
