Vietnam women's futsal team ranked 13th in the world on the first FIFA rankings announced

On May 7, in the first FIFA rankings announced for national women's futsal teams around the world , the women's futsal team ranked 13th in the world, 4th in Asia and 2nd in Southeast Asia.

Similar to the rankings for men's futsal teams, the FIFA women's futsal rankings will be the basis for seeding for FIFA-organized futsal tournaments, including the women's futsal World Cup, which will be held for the first time in history in 2025. Therefore, being in the top 4 in Asia can also be considered an advantage for the Vietnamese women's futsal team.

In the world top 10, it is no surprise that the Brazilian women's team takes the lead. Followed by Spain and Portugal.

Also in the top 10, Asia has 3 representatives: Thailand (ranked 6th in the world), Iran (ranked 8th in the world) and Japan (ranked 9th in the world).

The next FIFA women's futsal rankings will be published in October 2024.
