The Russian team traveled by private plane and landed at Noi Bai Airport, Hanoi at 12:45. The whole team quickly completed procedures in the area reserved for the delegation and was escorted to the JW Marriott Hotel. At the hotel, Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi - General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) - welcomed the Russian team with a bouquet of flowers presented to head coach Valeri Karpin. The Russian team coming to Vietnam this time included outstanding players such as Matvey Safonov, Daler Kuzyayev and especially Konstantin Tyukavin - the 22-year-old young star who won the Russian Player of the Year award last season. In addition, we can mention Sergei Pinyayev - a 19-year-old midfielder from Lokomotiv Moscow. Pinyayev debuted in Russia's highest league at the age of 17 years and 39 days. He then became the third youngest player to score a goal in the tournament after Jano Ananidze and Aleksandr Salugin. Pinyayev also became the youngest player to make his debut for Russia at the age of 18 years and 15 days, breaking the record of Igor Akinfeev. On March 26, 2023, Pinyayev scored against Iraq in a friendly match, becoming the youngest player to score for Russia at the age of 18 years, 4 months and 24 days, breaking the record of Dmitri Sychev.
