Speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, said that in 2026, in addition to the direct admission method according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , the school plans to use only one method: comprehensive admission.
This method includes component scores: considering high school graduation exam scores, capacity assessment exam scores, high school learning outcomes and other outstanding achievements.
Dr. Nhan emphasized that, in the above components, high school graduation exam scores and capacity assessment account for the main weight.
The aim of this method is to aim for a more comprehensive and fair assessment in the admission process. The official plan will be announced by the school in the near future.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the comprehensive admission method has been used by the University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University, in the last few admissions periods.
At the request of the Ministry of Education and Training, training institutions will soon announce enrollment methods from 2026 in October this year.
The Ministry said it will announce revised and supplemented admission regulations to thoroughly address the lack of fairness and reliability in admission methods and criteria, ensuring consistency with the 2018 General Education Program.
At the same time, the new regulations have a positive impact on teaching and learning activities in general education applied for 2026.
The Ministry also issued a new policy on regional priority for candidates in the context of merging provinces.
At the same time, the Ministry is seeking opinions on eliminating the consideration of high school transcripts and reducing the number of applications for admission.
