Talking about this important tournament, Vice President of the World Mind Sports Council and Head Coach of the Vietnam Super Memory Team Nguyen Phung Phong said: "The World Mind Sports Competition was founded in 1991 by Professor Tony Buzan and chess grandmaster Raymond Kenny. This 33rd tournament attracted 101 contestants from 21 countries. The Vietnamese team participated in the tournament with 11 carefully selected players and was carefully invested in by Tam Tri Luc Training Joint Stock Company".
Continue to bring Vietnamese intelligence to the world
This year's World Mind Sports Competition has 3 competitions: Speed Reading, Mind Mapping and World Super Memory. The Mind Mapping competition has 3 rounds: Listening to books, Self-creativity and Listening to videos . In the first round, contestants must read the content of a book and summarize it in a mind map, then watch a video which is a news report to draw an overview, also through a mind map. Finally, the organizers give a topic for everyone to create together. This year's exam is about family, contestants present their thoughts around family stories, expressed in mind maps for the judges to score.
Vietnam's Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao overcame the "obstacles" very quickly and excellently, having the highest average score in all rounds among the contestants participating in the tournament, so she received the gold cup.
The success of athlete Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao in her first world competition not only affirms the ability of Vietnamese contestants but also demonstrates the strong development of the Vietnamese intellectual sports movement that is reaching out to the continent and the world.

At the World Super Brain tournament, athlete Dang Ngoc Phuong Trinh did not perform well and could not defend last year's championship, receiving 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal at the 2024 World Mind Sports competition.
Another good news is that the World Mind Sports Council has also approved the 34th World Mind Sports Competition to take place in Vietnam in 2025.
"For over 10 years, my team and I have worked hard to bring sweet fruits to life today. The championship trophy that player Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao brought home for the team this year is a result of the 7-year journey of learning and training of her and her teachers and coaches, and is also the initial success of Vietnamese intellectual sports that is coming to students nationwide, through the 5-minute memorization program.
The Vietnam Super Memory Team believes that, with the Vietnamese people's tradition of studiousness and timely equipping with effective learning methods, our country's talents will have the opportunity to shine with friends around the world through interesting and attractive intellectual competitions," said World Record Holder Nguyen Phung Phong - Vice President of the World Mind Sports Council .
