Vietnam team practices with 9-time K.League champion team

On the morning of November 23, the Vietnamese team will depart for Korea and begin an important training trip before the AFF Cup 2024. Accordingly, the Vietnamese team will have 3 practice matches with the "blue team" arranged in order of increasing difficulty to serve the professional requirements of the coaching staff.

Specifically, the Vietnamese team will meet Ulsan Citizen of K.League 3 in the first match. This club ranked 12th in the last season. This challenge is a warm-up for the players after a period of intense competition in V.League as well as days of "stuffing" physical strength in Korea.

In the next match, the Vietnamese team will be a guest of Daegu FC. This is a team with a rich tradition in Korea. They were runners-up in K.League 1 in 2016 but were then relegated. This season, Deagu is participating in the play-off round for promotion and is 3 points behind the top team Jeju FC. Basically, Daegu FC is still a strong enough opponent for Mr. Kim Sang-sik and his team.

The final challenge is Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC - the real giant of Korean football. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors owns many national team players, 9 times K.League 1 champion, the last time they won the cup in 2021. This club won the Asian Cup 1 twice. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors is also the team that Mr. Kim Sang-sik is associated with both as a player and coach.

In this training session, Coach Kim Sang Sik selected 30 players from the preliminary list of 50 players registered with the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF). After finishing the training trip in Korea, the team's force will be strengthened with the participation of some players from the Nam Dinh Blue Steel Club. The Thanh Nam team has a schedule to compete in the AFC Champions League Two 2024/25, so it will be after December 4 that the players can be released to serve the team.

On December 6, the Vietnamese team will travel to Laos to prepare for the opening match in Group B of the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship, against the Lao team on December 9 at the Laos National Stadium. One day before the match, coach Kim Sang Sik will make the final decision on the official list of the team of 26 players.
