Businesses practice energy saving
According to independent reports, energy costs currently account for 10-30% of product costs in many industries such as food processing, garment, seafood, mechanics, etc. Therefore, reducing energy loss means reducing production costs.
Some large enterprises in the province have also proactively built energy audit processes, thereby identifying loss points, optimizing production systems and significantly reducing operating costs. This is a direction that shows clear effectiveness, especially in the context of enterprises needing to tighten costs but still ensuring product quality.
Currently, enterprises focus on EMS energy management solutions and industrial refrigeration control as well as investment saving solutions. In addition, they are also interested in optimizing energy management with solutions such as: FusionSolar Smart PV + ESS, comprehensive compressed air for factories, energy saving for industrial steam systems and lighting systems...

According to engineer Pham Van Thach - energy management officer (Ty Xuan Company Limited), the unit has carried out steps to implement energy saving solutions such as: determining solutions, surveying and measuring, conducting bidding, measuring and evaluating efficiency.
“Since 2018, the factory has purchased electrical measuring equipment, providing the energy management team with more reliable support tools to measure and calculate efficiency when implementing projects. As a result, the ventilation system of the pneumatic station has been renovated to save 2,265 kWh/month, and the steam furnace has been converted from a boiler to a heat transfer oil tank, saving 4,000 USD/month... The company also evaluates and maintains ISO 50001 certification every year,” said Mr. Thach.
The Department of Industry and Trade has also surveyed and evaluated a number of energy saving models in large enterprises such as Ty Xuan Company Limited, Go Dang Company Limited - Vinh Long , New Hope Company Limited - Vinh Long, etc. Through the results of energy audits, all enterprises have awareness of energy saving.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Dong Phuong - Director of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion (Department of Industry and Trade), in recent years, the issue of using energy efficiently has become an important goal, associated with the requirements: reducing production costs for enterprises, ensuring energy security, aiming for green growth, and responding to climate change.
Implementing the National Program on economical and efficient use of energy for the period 2019-2030 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the province has been implementing many key tasks such as strengthening propaganda and guiding enterprises to use energy efficiently; supporting energy audits and proposing appropriate technical solutions; innovating equipment, promoting the application of energy saving technology; training and improving the capacity of the operating team, thereby forming the habit of using energy economically, safely and efficiently in enterprises and the community...
Towards energy security and green growth
Energy efficiency not only brings immediate benefits to businesses but also contributes significantly to the province's energy security goals. When electricity demand increases, especially during the hot season, businesses reducing peak-hour electricity consumption helps reduce pressure on the power system, limit the risk of overload and ensure a stable supply for the whole society.
Efficient energy use helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions - a key factor in the commitment to sustainable development and climate change response. Many businesses have installed rooftop solar power, taking advantage of available renewable energy sources to reduce costs and CO2 emissions...
The Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, clearly stated: "Developing the marine economy associated with the green economy, circular economy and digital economy is an important pillar, contributing to making the province become a new growth center of the Mekong Delta".
The province has more than 130km of coastline, an important estuary system and Dinh An Economic Zone - a strategic gateway to the East Sea. This is a special advantage, opening up a historic opportunity for the province to become a clean energy center, logistics center and green economy of the region.
Regarding the tasks and breakthrough solutions for developing the marine economy and clean energy to create momentum for the green economy and sustainable growth of the province, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade emphasized that the province needs to carry out a number of important strategic tasks.
It is necessary to expand the space for modern marine economic development, adjust marine spatial planning in association with provincial planning; research sea encroachment, build coastal urban areas; form a marine economic corridor and logistics center in Dinh An Economic Zone - the gateway connecting the Mekong Delta and the world.

In addition, a national clean energy center will gradually be formed. Strongly promote the development of wind power, solar power, biomass, LNG and green hydrogen; attract international corporations to invest in storage technology, hydrogen utilization systems in energy storage and smart power systems.
Especially developing a green, circular economy, associated with ecological conservation. Reorganizing seafood production according to the value chain; developing high-tech aquaculture, sustainable offshore exploitation; controlling plastic waste, protecting mangrove forests, proactively responding to climate change...
With the determination of the province and the initiative of enterprises, energy saving is becoming an inevitable trend in industrial production. It is not only a measure to reduce costs and increase profits but also a responsibility to the community in protecting the environment and responding to climate change. This is also an important foundation to improve the competitiveness of enterprises and contribute positively to the province's green economic growth target in the coming years.
