Many young people now have to go to the hospital for examination and rehabilitation because of neck and shoulder pain, spinal pain, bone and joint pain... Changing lifestyles, increasing work pressure, and increased use of computers and phones can lead to this condition. For office workers, the rate of musculoskeletal diseases has now reached more than 65%. This rate is increasing because people's work is increasingly related to computers and phone use. Many people sit 3-4 hours continuously in one position, leading to increased neck and shoulder pain, joint pain...

AI and robot applications increase rehabilitation efficiency

Symptoms of musculoskeletal diseases in this age group often occur silently or are just short aches and pains, so many people pay little attention or ignore them, making the condition worse and making treatment difficult.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Manh Cuong said that the hospital is gradually applying artificial intelligence AI and robots in the treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal diseases. AI combined with robots will be applied to restore minor functions such as feet, hands, neck and shoulder pain, spine, disc herniation, post-stroke problems such as hemiplegia, weak limbs, etc.
The application of AI and robots in treatment helps doctors intervene more accurately to restore function to patients after surgery for trauma, orthopedics, or after stroke... Research results around the world show that this application is highly effective, helping to quickly restore body function.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Le Manh Cuong, the robot is capable of collecting natural electromyographic signals from the patient's muscles and analyzing them, identifying muscle activity and emotional expression, thereby increasing the ability to diagnose and adjust during the recovery process. The robot also creates audio, visual and muscle vibration feedback signals to guide and encourage the patient during the exercise process. In addition to physical therapy movements, video games are also installed in the system to stimulate and restore movement and memory for the patient, increasing manual dexterity.
