Impressive force of U.23 Vietnam

Coach Kim Sang-sik has announced the list of U.23 Vietnam for the training trip in China, with all the best players just returning from the national team.

The entire strongest force, with the U.23 Southeast Asian championship squad and the U.23 Asian qualifiers, is ready to join the match. Mr. Kim also called up additional central defender Dinh Quang Kiet (1.96 m tall) of HAGL, and welcomed back Bui Vi Hao.

With a rich and competitive squad, U.23 Vietnam will enter the sprint month to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games. The highlight of this month is the international U.23 tournament in China, where Mr. Kim's students will meet strong Asian teams.

Specifically, U.23 Vietnam will face U.23 China at 6:35 p.m. on November 12. Then, at 2:30 p.m. on November 15, U.23 Vietnam will face U.23 Uzbekistan. In the final match taking place at 2:30 p.m. on November 18, U.23 Vietnam will face U.23 Korea. The matches will take place in Chengdu (Sichuan, China), with the level of difficulty gradually increasing for coach Kim Sang-sik's team.

busy schedule

According to plan, U.23 Vietnam will gather on November 9 under the leadership of acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh, then go to China to participate in the tournament.

Immediately after the tournament ends, U.23 Vietnam will enter a training session to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games from November 23. During this period, the team will practice in Vung Tau (HCMC), then leave for Thailand on December 2 to attend the Games.

The reason why U.23 Vietnam is training in Vung Tau is because the hot weather conditions here are similar to Thailand, where the 33rd SEA Games will take place.

Before the international friendly tournament, the team practiced in Hanoi , where the weather is cold like China. Arranging accommodation based on the similar weather will help U.23 Vietnam adapt more easily.

At the 33rd SEA Games, U.23 Vietnam is in the same group as U.23 Laos and U.23 Malaysia. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will face U.23 Laos at 6:30 p.m. on December 4, then face U.23 Malaysia at 6:30 p.m. on December 11. The matches will take place in Songkhla.

In the 2026 AFC U23 Championship finals, Vietnam U23 is in Group A with Saudi Arabia U23, Jordan U23 and Kyrgyzstan U23. Vietnam U23 will meet Jordan U23 in the opening match.

At the U.23 Asian tournament, Vietnamese football met Jordan twice, with the results of 1 draw (0-0 in 2020) and 1 loss (1-3 in 2016).
