In the opening match, U17 Indonesia faced a "tough" opponent, U17 Zambia. Coach Bima Sakti's team entered the match with great enthusiasm. Right in the 12th minute, the team from the archipelago scored the opening goal. From a cross from his teammate, Gholy rushed in and finished close to the goal, opening the score.
However, the joy of U17 Indonesia did not last long. U17 Zambia rose strongly with superiority in terms of physique and strength. In that context, the Southeast Asian team could not withstand the stormy attacks of the opponent.
Within just 2 minutes (from minute 35 to minute 37), striker Abel Nyirongo scored two consecutive goals to help U17 Zambia take the lead 2-1. Not stopping there, before the end of the first half, U17 Indonesia suffered another painful blow when Lukonde Mwale scored the third goal for U17 Zambia.

In the second half, U17 Indonesia pushed up their formation to look for an equalizer. The Southeast Asian representative created a few good chances but could not convert them into goals. That forced them to accept defeat with a score of 1-3.
In the remaining match in Group H, U17 Brazil showed their strength when they won 7-0 against U17 Honduras. In the second match, U17 Indonesia will face a huge challenge from U17 Brazil. They need to avoid a heavy loss as 8/12 third-placed teams with the best records can still qualify for the next round.
