Provincial People's Committee holds regular meeting in April

In April 2025, Quang Ninh province continued to focus on implementing solutions to complete socio -economic development goals in the second quarter and the first 6 months of the year.

Specifically, the Industrial Production Index (IIP) continued to grow well in the first 4 months of the year, in which the processing and manufacturing industry increased by more than 28%, continuing to play the role of a new driving force in the province's economic growth; at the same time, the mining and electricity production industry continued to maintain stability as the pillar of the province's economy, in which coal output and electricity output basically achieved the progress set out in the growth plan.

The service sector continued to grow steadily, with total retail sales of goods and service revenue in the first 4 months increasing by 18.5% over the same period; the total number of tourists reached 7.58 million, equal to 70.2% of the 6-month plan; the export turnover of enterprises in the province increased by more than 13.1% over the same period; the state budget revenue in the first 4 months was estimated at 66.2% of the 6-month plan and basically achieved the expected average collection progress. In particular, sustainable budget revenue from taxes and fees was guaranteed to be on schedule, reaching 35% of the estimate, up 3% over the same period. Cultural and social work continued to receive attention: organizing many activities to celebrate major holidays in the area, creating favorable conditions for organizing major cultural and sports events.

In addition to positive results, in the first 4 months of the year, there were still shortcomings and difficulties: Some growth targets did not reach the set scenario, public investment disbursement was higher than the same period but did not ensure the progress of the plan; businesses still faced many difficulties due to many fluctuations in the economic situation related to the reciprocal tax policy from the United States...

At the meeting, members of the Provincial People's Committee focused on reviewing the goals and tasks and proposing solutions to effectively implement socio-economic development tasks in the coming months with the determination to persistently maintain the productivity of economic pillars to ensure the completion of the GRDP growth target of 14%.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the spirit of concentration, proactiveness and determination of agencies, units and authorities at all levels in effectively implementing the goals and tasks in the first 4 months of the year.

To achieve the dual target of socio-economic growth in the second quarter reaching over 12.14% and successfully completing the task of arranging and organizing local authorities, he requested that all levels and sectors resolutely and effectively implement tasks and solutions; grasp information on the electricity production situation of units during peak months; promptly direct solutions to ensure electricity production output according to the set plan; provide stable electricity supply in Quang Ninh province, not allowing power shortages to occur, especially in the summer - the peak tourist season. All levels and sectors need to urge and accelerate the completion progress, and soon put into use a number of production, business and tourism projects; well organize events to attract tourists during the peak summer season of 2025, especially during the April 30 - May 1 holidays; strengthen inspection work to ensure safety in tourism activities.

Localities shall base on the guiding documents, compare the management situation, and use the 2025 budget to adjust the budget when merging communes and implementing two-level local government; at the same time, focus on implementing and completing the final settlement and payment of public investment projects.

Along with that, localities need to prepare conditions for implementation, organize the implementation of high school graduation exams, admission to grade 10 high school, effectively implement the Project to improve the capacity of the preventive and curative health care system; ensure national defense, security, social order and safety; not be passive or surprised in any situation; strengthen the fight against crime, especially related to counterfeit and fake goods crimes that are prominent throughout the country.
