UMT temporarily suspends Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang from his position

(NLDO) - Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology (UMT) received many complaints from a number of individuals about Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang.

On the evening of January 7, Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology (UMT) announced the temporary suspension of work and position for Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang, Director of the Institute of Sports Science and Management and activities of the Department of Sports Management.

The suspension period is from January 7 to January 21, 2025.

Information from UMT said that the school received many complaints from individuals about Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang. Therefore, the school needs to verify related issues.

Because he was in charge of the Department of Sports Management (under the Institute of Sports Science and Management), when Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang was suspended, UMT transferred this department to the Faculty of Business; at the same time, assigned a member of the board of directors to be in charge of the institute.

UMT affirmed that this transfer is a change in management and does not affect the training of students majoring in Sports Management.

Previously, Dr. Nguyen Tra Giang was also involved in a controversy regarding whether or not he was the co-author of the book "A Unified System Fitness Design: Concepts of Holistic and Inclusive Fitness Framework", published by Routledge Publishing House (UK).
