Twitch App on Nintendo Switch Is Shutting Down

“We recently made the difficult decision to remove the Twitch app from Nintendo Switch,” Twitch communications director Gabriella Raila said in a statement to The Verge. “Nintendo remains a great partner of ours, and we appreciate all of the support the Switch community has provided to Twitch and our streamers.”

Twitch launched its app on Switch in late 2021, but many users have complained about issues with the app.

They said they couldn’t see chats while watching streams, so they had to use other devices if they wanted to see what other users were discussing or send private messages. They also couldn’t subscribe to creators if they wanted to support them. Most notably, they couldn’t use the app to stream games with the community.
