Workers from poor households, near-poor households, newly escaped poverty households, especially disadvantaged communes, coastal and island areas, etc. are priority subjects to go to Japan to work as nurses and caregivers.
The Department of Overseas Labor Management (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs) has just announced the recruitment of candidates to participate in the Program to send Vietnamese nurses and caregivers to work in Japan under the Vietnam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (VJEPA). This is a non-profit program to help nursing graduates who wish to work in Japan.
By participating in this program, candidates enjoy many incentives that are difficult to obtain in other programs. Specifically: Candidates who meet the prescribed standards, if selected, will participate in a 12-month free Japanese language training course at a training facility organized by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in coordination with the Japanese focal point.
During the training period, students will be provided with free accommodation, meals and living expenses. At the end of the course, candidates will take the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N3 level.

The Overseas Labor Management Department, in coordination with the Japanese focal point, will introduce those who have achieved the N3 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test to Japanese hospitals and healthcare facilities that need to recruit nursing and caregiving candidates for selection.
The salary of a regular nursing candidate is from 160,000-180,000 yen/month (equivalent to 28 million-32 million VND); the salary of a nursing assistant candidate is 180,000~190,000 yen/month (equivalent to 32 million-34 million VND). In addition to the above salary, the candidate will receive allowances corresponding to work performance.
Selected candidates will be able to study and work in Japan for a maximum of 3 years for nursing candidates (with one year extension) and a maximum of 4 years for nursing candidates (with one year extension). During their study and work in Japan, candidates are allowed to take the Japanese National Nursing and Caregiver Certification Exam. Nursing candidates can take the exam once a year, and nursing candidates can take the exam once in the 4th year. If they pass, they will be granted a Japanese National Nursing and Caregiver Certification and will be allowed to stay and work long-term in Japan.
Candidates are young people under 35 years old; graduated from college or bachelor of nursing, general nursing; Meet health requirements confirmed by competent authorities; Have no criminal record or criminal prosecution according to the provisions of Vietnamese law... Nursing candidates must be granted a certificate to practice medical examination and treatment according to the provisions of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment and have at least two years of experience in nursing work.
In particular, the selection program prioritizes candidates from poor households, near-poor households, households that have just escaped poverty, ethnic minorities, and people living in poor districts and especially disadvantaged communes in coastal and island areas.
From April 1, 2023 to October 31, 2023, qualified candidates submit their applications directly or by post to: Department of Overseas Labor Management (www.dolab.gov.vn), 41 Ly Thai To, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
Implementing the Vietnam - Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (VJEPA), from 2012 to present, the Department of Overseas Labor Management - Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has coordinated with Japan to select and provide Japanese language training for 11 courses of nursing and caregiving candidates, totaling 2,147 people. To date, 1,696 nurses and caregiving assistants have been sent to work at receiving facilities in Japan.
