The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city supervises the provision of clean water for rural areas in Kien Thuy district.

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of May 29, the Supervisory Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City conducted supervision of the work of ensuring clean water supply to rural areas in Kien Thuy District. Comrade Dao Trong Duc, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, was the Head of the Delegation. According to the report of Kien Thuy District People's Committee, as of December 31, 2024, the district has 07 water plants in operation and 04/16 communes use water from Hai Phong Water Supply Joint Stock Company. The plants conduct monthly water quality testing, taking 03 water samples each time. In 2024, the district replaced 03 water plants that did not ensure quality (Dai Ha, Dong Phuong, Ngu Doan I) according to voters' feedback. The transfer will be completed in December 2023, January 2024 and December 31, 2024, respectively.

The rate of households using clean water reached 100% (48,690/48,690 households), an increase of 181 households compared to the previous year. The district has also deployed the dissemination of Plan No. 178/KH-UBND dated August 7, 2024 on safe water supply in rural areas for the period 2024-2029 to all communes, towns and water plants.

After conducting a field inspection and listening to the report of the People's Committee of Kien Thuy district and the opinions of the members of the monitoring delegation, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Dao Trong Duc emphasized the essential role of clean water for life, production and public health, especially in the context of increasing environmental pollution and climate change. At the same time, he called on the whole society to join hands to protect and rationally use water resources for sustainable development. The Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city also highly appreciated the preparation work of Kien Thuy district, requesting the district to continue to effectively implement Resolution No. 15-NQ/TU dated July 31, 2024 of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on ensuring clean water supply in rural areas. The district needs to strengthen environmental inspection and supervision, waste control, promote propaganda on economical water use and regularly monitor water quality, ensuring that 100% of households have access to clean and safe water.
