Saturday market traders pledge not to encroach on roads and sidewalks.

Accordingly, households pledge not to encroach on roads, sidewalks, and prohibited trading areas; voluntarily dismantle roofs, tents, signs, and temporary structures within the land for traffic and irrigation purposes; and strictly comply with legal regulations on urban order and environmental protection.

The activity is part of phase 1 of the plan to restore order in the Saturday market area and main roads of the People's Committee of Dong Thai commune; phase 2 will handle administrative violations and enforce cases of intentional non-compliance.

Nguyen Van My, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of Dong Thai Commune, said: "The commune is determined to rectify the situation of encroachment on the roadside, ensuring the landscape and traffic safety, but still encourages people to voluntarily dismantle it to avoid disrupting their livelihoods."
