Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Thai commune gives livelihoods to poor households

In Quang Dien district, the National Target Program on New Rural Development began to be implemented in 2010. After 10 years of efforts, by 2020, all 10/10 communes had been recognized as New Rural Communes and on May 9, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 560/QD-TTg recognizing Quang Dien district as meeting the standards of a New Rural District in 2020. The district is continuing to implement the program of building advanced New Rural Districts and communes, and model New Rural Districts.

Thanks to the construction of the new rural area, the appearance of Dong Bao village, Quang Vinh commune is increasingly spacious. The inter-village road passes through the residential land of many families. To have a wider and more beautiful road, households: Tran Giap, Tran Bich, Nguyen Thi Dac did not hesitate to donate nearly 100m2 of land each. "When building the road, my neighbors and I will join, so I am willing to donate land without much hesitation. Since the road was concreted and expanded, our village has been "upgraded"...", said Mr. Tran Giap, Dong Bao village, Quang Vinh commune.

With the mobilization of the Village Front Committee, many households in the village donated more than 1,500 square meters of agricultural land to build inter-commune roads. The village's 400-meter high-voltage lighting line cost 122 million VND, the village gate cost more than 450 million VND, the cultural house fence cost 100 million VND were built; the village roads and alleys were concreted, all of which were contributed by the villagers.

The flower roads of Tay Hoang, Trung Kieu, Lai Ha, Trung Lang villages, Quang Thai commune are carefully cared for and compete to show off their colors, making the peaceful country roads more beautiful and cleaner. That is the result of the campaign to mobilize people to actively respond to the policy of building advanced new-style rural communes and model new-style rural villages.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Thai commune guides the Village Front Working Committee to coordinate with organizations to mobilize people to actively clean the environment, plant trees, restore the beauty of village roads and alleys; take care of 4 flower roads and 1 "Bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe road". At the same time, actively propagate and mobilize cadres, civil servants and the masses to respond to the movement of not using plastic bags and single-use plastic items, coordinate to mobilize people to classify waste at households... 7 models of "Self-managed residential areas to protect the environment" in 7 villages are still maintained and implemented well.

Mr. Ho Dang Minh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Dien district, said: In residential areas, the role of the Front Working Committee has been promoted and many forms of propaganda and mobilization of people to participate in building advanced new rural areas in a specific and practical way, through the example of cadres and party members in the process of implementing advanced new rural criteria have been effectively implemented.

Through the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", with skillful mass mobilization models, the people of the whole district have donated over 27,000m2 of land, over 5,000 trees of all kinds, contributed nearly 15,000 working days, thousands of cubic meters of earth and rocks and many other works and architectural objects. The people in the district have boldly invested in building and upgrading houses, gates, fences, auxiliary works, sanitary works, and voluntarily contributed to building over 20km of intra-village, intra-hamlet and residential area roads.

From 2021 to present, the people of the whole district have donated trees, constructions, land, working days, over 29 billion VND and contributed and invested hundreds of billions of VND to build houses, cultural houses, village roads, intra-field irrigation and other welfare works.

To help people develop the economy , rise up to escape poverty sustainably in building advanced new rural areas, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district has prioritized the use of the "For the Poor" Fund and mobilized resources to support the construction and repair of houses for poor, near-poor households, households in especially difficult circumstances living in temporary houses, severely degraded houses. At the same time, implementing the movement "Clans, villages, hamlets without poor households" in 2022 - 2023. The Front coordinated with organizations at all levels to help 103 households rise up to escape poverty...
