Thai Binh Literature and Arts: Accompanying the homeland and country

During the fierce and arduous resistance war against the US to save the country, in 1970, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association was established to fulfill the important task of fighting for the cause of protecting national independence and unifying the country. 50 years after the country was unified, the country was reunited, the North and the South were reunited, Thai Binh artists and writers have always "used their pens and passionate patriotic hearts as weapons" on the cultural and ideological front, creating many works of artistic value, making important contributions to the development of their homeland and country.

Promoting tradition

Over the past half century, Thai Binh has joined hands with the whole country to build culture and develop people through creative steps and methods, bearing its own mark. In particular, from the traditional foundation, the province's literature and art have made important contributions to the process of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritages and actively participating in socio -economic development, achieving many glorious achievements.

Cultural researcher Nguyen Thanh, Folklore Association, Provincial Literature and Arts Association shared: Since the mid-80s of the 20th century, the Folklore Association was established, gathering veteran figures in the field of collecting and researching folklore. Since then, works of collecting and researching folklore have been published such as: "Thai Binh Folklore", "Keo Pagoda", "Ky Dong Biography and Poetry"... Those are the first books that mark Thai Binh literature and art in preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage. The period from the late 1980s to the early 21st century is considered the golden age of activities to preserve and promote Thai Binh cultural heritage. According to cultural researcher Nguyen Thanh, in recent years, many senior members of the Association have "disappeared" one after another, but the good news is that the majority of the members who have been added have high educational qualifications and mature professional skills. Since then, practical books have been published contributing to the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage values of the homeland, including the books: "Le Quy Don", "Nguyen village culinary culture", "Typical intangible cultural heritage of Thai Binh province"... In addition, some members are also co-editors and co-authors of major books of the province such as "Thai Binh Dictionary", "Thai Binh Geography", contributing to illuminating and spreading the values of cultural heritages. Some members are also key forces in implementing national and international seminars organized by the Provincial People's Committee in coordination with domestic research agencies such as: scientific seminars on the famous person Le Quy Don, seminars on the art of Cheo, scientific seminars on the anniversary of the founding of the province...

Application of science and technology and digital transformation in literature and art

After more than 50 years of establishment and development, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association is now home to 308 members in 8 specialized branches. Although elderly members account for over 60% and performers account for nearly 30%, the application of science and technology and digital transformation are still effectively deployed in the creation and promotion of works.

Among the majors of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, the major that applies science and technology the most is architecture. Design projects, master plans, detailed plans... are currently being applied by architects using 2D, 3D design software, with the participation of artificial intelligence (AI) to create designs and plans that are both general and accurate, meticulous to every detail and provide many analyses and forecasts for the future.

Architect Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of the Architectural Association, informed: The Association gathers generations of architects in the province, from those with extensive experience to talented young members. Through organizing seminars and workshops suitable for each topic, the Association contributes ideas to planning and architectural projects at the request of the Provincial People's Committee and units in the province. The Association has encouraged its members to participate in a variety of creative activities, scientific research, consulting, and field surveys...

At the same time, proactively and actively transform digitally in urban architecture consulting; make the best use of intellectual resources to contribute to improving the quality of urban planning and architecture in the province towards green, smart, resource-saving urban areas with their own identity, optimally exploiting existing infrastructure; develop and expand the network of social infrastructure and technical infrastructure in a modern and synchronous direction.

In addition, branches such as photography, fine arts, theater, radio and television... have also been very active in applying digital technology to serve creative activities, promote, and bring works closer to the public inside and outside the province. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, President of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, said: Through an overview of the results of applying science and technology, digital transformation in creative work, promoting works of members and the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, we see the need for a stronger breakthrough in the coming time. Focusing on concretizing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo and Action Program No. 41-CTr/TU, dated February 12, 2025 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation in the field of literature and art to contribute to promoting the province's socio-economic development rapidly and sustainably through literary and artistic works.

In an effort to support members in the current period, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association has identified the role of each individual artist and branch in absorbing scientific and technological advances to practically serve creative activities, ensuring that they keep up with the trends of the times while clearly expressing their personality, emotions, passion and dedication. The new development period 50 years after the country's reunification is opening up many opportunities for artists to approach and spread their creativity to the world.
