The beautiful space of Nguyen Van Binh Book Street ( Ho Chi Minh City) on the morning of September 10 was bustling with "Thanh am dai ngan" which attracted the attention and participation of many artists and readers.
For the first time, the Dak Lak Literature and Arts Association in collaboration with Nguyen Van Binh Book Street, with the support of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Photographic Artists and Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Book Street, organized the program "Thanh am dai ngan" to introduce to the public literary and artistic works on the rich life and culture of ethnic groups in Dak Lak to the general public in Ho Chi Minh City.
Spreading the beauty of Dak Lak
Through many activities such as: displaying 100 paintings, art photos, music, poetry reading, telling stories about the mountains and forests, experiencing wine tasting, sketching, making clay figurines, calligraphy exchanges... the picture of the Central Highlands region famous for its epics and festivals has been vividly and intimately recreated by Dak Lak artists.
Poet Le Vinh Tai and artist Duong Thanh Nga performed excerpts from the M'nong epic, poet Pham Thi Nhu Thuy recited the poem Listening to Quan Ho songs on the plateau (a work by poet Le Huu Chinh). Meritorious Artist Y Phon Ksor's rustic voice, imbued with the Central Highlands mountains and forests, sang the songs Chim Phi bay ve goi nguon, Chiec gui, Doi chan bare; singers Dinh Tarina and Anh Tuyet performed the song Nho thang ba (composed by musician Linh Nga Nie Kdam)... which touched the hearts of many attendees.

Mr. Quach Thanh Nhan (Phu Nhuan District) - a freelance artist - felt: "The performances of the artists were very simple and sincere. And the exhibited artworks were very beautiful, giving me a very interesting feeling about the people and culture of Dak Lak. I really want to come to Dak Lak to explore more of this land".
Delighted and proud to be invited to be the program's media ambassador, model H'Ang Nie, who is currently living and studying in Ho Chi Minh City, shared: "As a child of Dak Lak, I am honored and very happy to be invited to be the program's media ambassador with the aim of spreading the cultural beauty of the land where I was born and raised. I feel like I am at home when participating in this program."
Connecting cultural domains
Writer Nie Thanh Mai, President of Dak Lak Literature and Arts Association, Head of the Organizing Committee shared: “We are very happy that when we opened the program to introduce authors and works of literature and arts of Dak Lak in Ho Chi Minh City, we received the attention and support of many units. The program is the passion of artists who want artists and literature and arts of Dak Lak in particular, and the Central Highlands in general, to get closer to the public and artists across the country.”
Delegates participated in the Ede people's wine drinking ceremony. |
The most special part of the program is the exchange between artists from Dak Lak and artists from Ho Chi Minh City. Everyone enjoyed the flavor of Can wine, the rich taste of Buon Ma Thuot coffee, then immersed themselves in the xoang dance, and enjoyed the performances. The connection between the two cultures and the people of Dak Lak and Ho Chi Minh City was highlighted.
Mr. Le Hoang, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Book Street Company Limited, said: “Thanh am dai ngan” is a special event at the Book Street. It is also a “promotional” program of Dak Lak in Ho Chi Minh City. I hope that in the future, there will be more units in the provinces and cities organizing exchange activities and promoting local literary and artistic works like the Dak Lak Literature and Arts Association has done. That is not only meaningful in spreading cultural and artistic values, but also creates a connection between Ho Chi Minh City readers and artists in the provinces and cities. At the same time, it brings freshness, excitement and impression to Ho Chi Minh City Book Street”.
