In the center of Cao Lanh city, Dong Thap province, lotus flowers are planted on many main roads such as Nguyen Hue, Ly Thuong Kiet, Pham Huu Lau, in front of the gates of agencies, schools, and parks.

Lotus plants are planted in water tanks, interspersed with ornamental plants in the middle of the median strip. When the lotus season comes, the flowers bloom brilliantly pink, making the scenery along the road more vibrant.

On the morning of April 11, Tuoi Tre Online recorded that Pham Huu Lau Street, Cao Lanh City, Dong Thap Province, which had just been upgraded and expanded, had many solidly enclosed areas planned for lotus planting. About a week ago, the newly planted lotus flowers bloomed brilliantly for the first time, delighting passersby.

In addition, the city also retains the old trees planted before to create a natural median strip.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Linh, living in Ward 4, Cao Lanh City, said that every day she takes her child to school on Pham Huu Lau Street. Recently, the road has been cleared and more lotus flowers have been planted.

"I think the expanded road is very beautiful, people have been traveling since Tet. For about a week now, the lotus flowers on the median strips have been blooming and it's very nice to see. I live here, I see lotus everywhere I go, it's familiar. But friends from far away are surprised to see lotus flowers blooming on the road because you can also see lotus in the city," said Ms. Linh.

According to the Cao Lanh City Land Fund Development and Project Management Board, the existing Pham Huu Lau Street, expanded, was completed and put into use in early March. The scale of the road after being fully constructed will be 21m wide, with 4m sidewalks on each side, lighting system and additional Lagerstroemia trees.

In which, the hard divider with a width ranging from 1 - 7m is planted with grass, Hong Loc trees interspersed between lotus holes. The number of lotus alone is 23 pots with an area of 14m2 along with decorative lamp posts.
