Gia Lai urgently directs the case of a teacher molesting many female students, the principal 'mistakenly sent' sensitive photos of women

On May 20, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province sent an official dispatch to relevant agencies and localities requesting to improve teachers' ethics, strengthen child protection and prevent school abuse.

According to the People's Committee of Gia Lai province, recently a number of incidents related to the ethics and lifestyle of teachers inthe education sector in Phu Thien district have been reported by the press, causing public outrage and affecting the image and reputation of the education sector.

Specifically, it was the case of the principal of Phu Thien District Ethnic Boarding Secondary School posting offensive images to the school's public Zalo group.

Previously, there was also the case of a teacher in charge of the Youth Union being accused of sexually abusing many female students at Nguyen Tri Phuong Primary School, Ayun Ha Commune, Phu Thien District.

Faced with the above situation, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to urgently implement measures to rectify, strengthen management and protect a safe and healthy educational environment for students.

Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee directed Phu Thien District People's Committee to urgently inspect, verify, clarify and fully and detailedly report the results of handling the above two cases before May 22.

Review and rectify the management of school administrators, teachers and staff in the area to prevent similar incidents from happening. Pay special attention to ethics, lifestyle, teacher standards and the use of media.

Strengthen inspection, examination and supervision of the implementation of regulations on teachers' ethics and child protection at educational institutions in the area. Take the lead and coordinate with competent authorities to strictly and promptly handle violations under their management authority.

The Department of Education and Training is assigned to direct and guide education and training departments and educational institutions across the province to strengthen political , ideological, ethical and lifestyle education for cadres, teachers and employees.

Strengthen supervision and management of the use of media by administrators, teachers, staff... to ensure compliance with legal regulations and ethical standards.

Along with that, promote the work of preventing school abuse, building a safe and friendly educational environment, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of students.

Strengthen propaganda and education on abuse prevention and self-protection skills for students. Promote the prevention of school abuse, especially for primary and secondary school students.

The leaders of Gia Lai province requested the provincial police to direct professional units to urgently investigate and strictly handle violations with signs of crime in the education sector in order to deter and prevent similar cases from happening.
