Why is Ca Mau a 'remote province' that earns more than 235 billion VND from tourism during the holidays?

On May 5, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province said that as of the morning of May 4, the whole province recorded nearly 240,000 visitors coming for sightseeing and entertainment. The number of visitors to Ca Mau increased, accommodation and revenue both increased compared to the April 30 holiday last year.

Some destinations that attract a lot of tourists include: Mui Ca Mau tourist area welcomed more than 16,000 visitors; community tourism households in Dat Mui welcomed nearly 40,000 visitors.

In particular, the Southern Traditional Cake Festival held in Ca Mau City attracted about 95,600 visitors.

Along with that, the U Minh Forest Fragrance Festival 2025 with the theme "U Minh Ha Colors" took place enthusiastically, introducing local specialties, organizing activities such as composite tire racing, trekking through the forest and many folk games, bringing unique experiences to visitors.

Ta Thao Ngan, a tourist in Ho Chi Minh City, said she found the activities in the U Minh Forest Fragrance event series that Ca Mau province recently organized during this holiday very interesting and captivating.

"Usually I work in the middle of four walls, so on holidays I want to return to the countryside and forests to enjoy the scenery and breathe the fresh air. Now that I can participate in these exciting events that remind me of my childhood, I really enjoy it. If I have the chance, my friends and I will continue to return to U Minh to visit," Ngan shared.

Mr. Giang Hoang Hon, Huong Tram tourist area (U Minh district), said that on the occasion of April 30, tourists often choose cool places, eco-tourism, and experiential tourism to visit, so the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism combined many programs at tourist areas to contribute to connecting and creating interesting destinations for tourists to experience.

"Tourists enjoy the rustic dishes of U Minh, of which enjoying the largest fish sauce hotpot in Vietnam in U Minh Ha is one of the unforgettable experiences when coming here," said Mr. Hon.
