In recent years, when visiting Ha Long Bay, in addition to exploring the caves and majestic rocky islands, it is very difficult for tourists to experience swimming in the sea in this natural wonder of the world .
Tourists jostle to get to Ti Top beach at peak time
Because, the whole Ha Long Bay is so vast but there is only one beach licensed and open to tourists, Ti Top. Meanwhile, Soi Sim beach is closed. This has led to the overload situation every time tourists buy tickets for route number 2 to go swimming at Ti Top island.
Mr. Nguyen Van Trong (a tourist from Hanoi ) said: "During the overnight trip on Ha Long Bay, I saw many islands with beautiful sandy beaches and asked the cruise ship to let me go swimming. However, the cruise ship staff said that swimming is prohibited in these places. Currently, Ti Top is the only place in Ha Long Bay where visitors can go swimming."
Ti Top Island beach is the only place at this time exploited as a beach for tourists in Ha Long Bay.
Explaining why Ha Long Bay only has one beach, a representative of Ha Long Bay Management Board said that Quang Ninh province previously had a separate regulation on beach standards. In particular, each beach must have at least 2 fresh water shower houses, lockers for visitors, public restrooms that meet the criteria of the General Department of Tourism , and a waste collection and treatment system that ensures environmental hygiene according to national technical standards...
This is what makes the beaches on the islands in Ha Long Bay, although beautiful and safe, fail to meet the above criteria. Especially the construction of works will destroy the landscape, the procedures take a long time to get permission from the locality to the central ministries and branches.
According to the Ha Long Bay Management Board, to resolve the above paradox, this unit has just sent a proposal to the Ha Long City People's Committee on approving the management and exploitation plan of the Tra San - Cong Do beach cluster on Ha Long Bay.
One of the natural beaches in Cong Do area is about to be put into operation.
This area covers an area of about 250 hectares, owning many beautiful natural sand beaches, with many coral reefs and a rich diversity of underwater creatures in the overall heritage site. Tra San - Cong Do beach cluster belongs to tour route No. 4, about 25 km from Tuan Chau International Port, next to Cong Do overnight accommodation area on Ha Long Bay.
This beach cluster consists of 8 natural sand beaches formed from coral fragments and mollusk shells, with an area of 100 to 800m2 , enough to serve tourists' experiences; of which 4 beaches can serve tourists' activities throughout the day without being affected by the ebb and flow of the tide.
In addition, this area not only serves the needs of tourists for swimming but also offers kayaking, sightseeing, and exploring natural landscapes.
Speaking to Thanh Nien , a leader of the Ha Long Bay Management Board said that based on the results of the assessment of Ha Long Bay's tourism capacity, the exploitation level of the Tra San - Cong Do area is 3,173 visitors/day; the number of operating vehicles is about 200. The exploitation of the Tra San - Cong Do beach cluster will be managed and supervised by units under the Ha Long Bay Management Board and related agencies and units.
It is expected that if the above plan is approved, this summer, tourists coming to Ha Long Bay and buying tickets to tour route number 4 will experience the extremely beautiful beach in the heart of the world natural heritage.
