The first graduates of Fulbright University Vietnam at the graduation ceremony
Notably, the first graduation ceremony held by this school had the theme "Fulbright's Firsts". According to the explanation of this university, the theme is meant to commemorate the inspirational learning journey of the school's first generation of undergraduate graduates, the class of 2023. Accordingly, the time studying at Fulbright has prepared these students to be ready to step into the next chapters of their lives.
Students receive $4.5 million in investment to develop graduation projects
The first batch of undergraduate graduates from Fulbright University Vietnam came from all over the country, with 11 majors: economics, psychology, Vietnamese studies, history, media and art studies, literature, integrated sciences, computer science, social sciences, applied mathematics, and engineering. Among them, there were double major graduates, major graduates with one or two minors.
Happy graduation day
Before graduating, some students of the class of 2023 were accepted into master's and doctoral programs at top universities in the US and other countries such as: William & Mary College, Minnesota, John Carroll University, University of Texas at Austin, University of California - Riverside; Bar-Ilan University (Israel); ESMT - European School of Management and Technology (Germany); KU Leuven University (Belgium); Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Netherlands); Central European University (Hungary).

Nguyen Phung Nhat Khoi (computer science major) convinced agritech startup Koidra to invest $4.5 million to develop a graduation project on technology to teach computers to grow plants.
Wishing the new graduates a smooth start and extraordinary achievements.
Ms. Dam Bich Thuy shared at the graduation ceremony this morning.
Before starting her speech at the graduation ceremony, Ms. Dam Bich Thuy, Founding President of Fulbright University Vietnam, led her students in an emotional gesture. Following her instructions, all the students in their graduation gowns turned back to the back of the hall – where all the parents were witnessing the event marking an important turning point in their children’s growth. Before the new graduates’ sacred bow to express their gratitude, the parents were clearly moved.
After sharing the story of "first things" in the 8 years of being attached to Fulbright University Vietnam, Ms. Dam Bich Thuy told the new graduates: "My new graduates, keep your mind and heart open to get to know the people who will enter your life. Treat everyone fairly and contribute your part in taking risks and finding your own people, your normal people".
Parents were moved to attend the graduation ceremony in person.
"And whatever you do with them outside these doors, whatever miracles you create, I hope you remember this: You shape the world as it shapes you. I wish you a good start and extraordinary things," the founding President of Fulbright University Vietnam said.
The keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony was Dr. Le Viet Quoc, a scientist working at Google – where he is considered one of the leading researchers in artificial intelligence at the Google Brain project. Dr. Le Viet Quoc is also a member of the Board of Trustees and a long-time member of the Science and Training Council at Fulbright University. He gave an inspiring speech to the new Fulbright graduates of the class of 2023, revolving around a topic that has been of great interest recently: "Faced with the rapid changes of the times, can machines replace humans?"
Fulbright University Vietnam is the first independent, not-for-profit liberal arts university in Vietnam. It enrolled and opened its first undergraduate class in 2018, one year after the Vietnamese government granted it an operating license. Previously, in 2014, the US Congress approved a budget to establish a liberal arts university in Vietnam.
