Following the success of 2024, European Education Week 2025 returns and continues to affirm the appeal of Europe as one of the leading study and research destinations for Vietnamese students. As an important highlight of European Education Week 2025, the Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe Festival events have the participation of more than 300 representatives from 100 Vietnamese universities, 65 European universities, along with many research institutes, technology enterprises and development organizations.
2025 also marks the first time that two key EU programmes, Erasmus+ (on education and training) and Horizon Europe (on research and innovation), are organised within the same framework, creating a space for comprehensive dialogue and connection where education and research converge to create solutions for the future.

The program is a large-scale forum, focusing on introducing outstanding cooperation results between Vietnam and the EU in the two programs over the past years. Accordingly, there are currently more than 150 cooperation projects between the two sides in the fields of education, science and technology. The Vietnamese research community has participated in 19 international projects on technology, innovation, artificial intelligence, green technology and biomedicine, reflecting Vietnam's increasingly active role in the global knowledge ecosystem.
In addition to discussions on science, technology, and digital transformation, representatives of EU member states also shared about education policies, cooperation initiatives, and academic networking opportunities, demonstrating a consistent spirit of cooperation through the Team Europe approach, contributing to strengthening the strategic partnership in the field of higher education and research between Vietnam and EU member states.
Previously, events of the European Education Week 2025 held in two major cities , Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, attracted more than 3,000 participants, including students, parents and representatives of educational institutions.
The European Education Week 2025 is organized within the framework of the “Plug in to Evolution” campaign, a key communication and public diplomacy initiative, part of the global activities of the European Union’s “Global Gateway” Strategy. The campaign aims to promote skills development, green transformation and sustainable cooperation through a series of creative activities aimed at the young generation. The European Education Week is therefore not only a bridge between Vietnamese students and European universities, but also part of the journey to spread the spirit of learning, creativity and building the future together.

Vietnam is an important partner of the European Union in the field of education, one of the top priorities in the Global Gateway Strategy. Currently, 40,000 students have chosen EU member states, accounting for nearly 30% of the total number of Vietnamese students studying abroad.
The partnership between the European Union and Vietnam in the field of higher education has developed strongly. Through the Erasmus+ program, thousands of Vietnamese students and lecturers have had the opportunity to experience the learning, research and cultural exchange environment in Europe.
Over the past year, more than 100 universities from Vietnam and Europe have gathered in Hanoi to discuss cooperation in research, innovation and teaching. Currently, there are more than 430 joint training programs with international universities across Vietnam, of which half are with partners from Europe.
