On November 9, at a regular press conference, answering a reporter's question asking for Vietnam's response to the current situation in the Gaza Strip, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated:
Vietnam strongly condemns violent attacks against civilians, humanitarian workers, journalists and essential infrastructure.
In the spirit of the resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly at its emergency session on October 27, we call on all parties to immediately cease fire, comply with international law, comply with international humanitarian law, protect civilians and civilian infrastructure, establish humanitarian corridors, and immediately release all hostages.
Vietnam welcomes and supports the efforts of the international community to encourage parties to exercise restraint, engage in dialogue, and resolve disagreements through peaceful means, on the basis of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, in order to achieve a fair, satisfactory, and long-term solution to the Middle East peace process.
Regarding the situation of Vietnamese citizens in this region, the Spokesperson said that due to the complicated escalation in the Middle East, since October 16, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Vietnamese citizens in Israel to proactively leave Israel to ensure their safety. To date, 13 Vietnamese citizens have returned home safely on commercial flights and flights of partners with citizens in Israel in the spirit of humanity.
Following the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel has proactively developed and implemented plans to protect citizens on the spot, maintained contact, increased propaganda, advised, and supported citizens to leave Israel to safe areas. For citizens remaining in Israel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to advise citizens to leave Israel soon.
The spokesperson also stated that in case of emergency, needing help, support and information about citizen protection plans, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that citizens contact the citizen protection hotline of the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel, as well as the Citizen Protection Call Center of the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
