On September 26, within the framework of her working trip to Finland, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang had a working session with Permanent Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland Jumka Salovaara at the headquarters of the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Pleased to meet with State Secretary Jumka Salovaara, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highly appreciated the positive developments in the Vietnam-Finland relationship in recent times and suggested that the two Foreign Ministries continue to coordinate closely in their coordinating roles to enhance extensive and effective cooperation, including organizing delegation exchanges at all levels, promoting cooperation mechanisms between the two countries, and actively implementing documents and agreements signed between the two sides.

Sharing the view that the two countries still have much potential and room to further strengthen cooperation, especially in the fields of trade and investment, science and technology, innovation, education and training, agriculture and environment, information and communication technology, semiconductors, tourism, development cooperation, etc., State Secretary Jumka Salovaara highly appreciated the strong development of Vietnam's economy ; affirmed that Vietnam is Finland's leading important partner in ASEAN and Finland will promote Vietnam-EU relations.

The two sides agreed to make the most of opportunities from the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), striving to increase bilateral trade turnover steadily in the coming years; becoming each other's gateway for goods from both countries to penetrate the EU and ASEAN markets.

State Secretary Jumka Salovaara agreed with Vietnam's proposal to urge EU countries to soon ratify the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and to lobby the European Council EC to remove the IUU yellow card for Vietnam.

The two sides agreed to continue to closely coordinate and support each other at international forums, especially at the United Nations and ASEAN-EU.

On international and regional issues, the two sides emphasized the role and importance of the United Nations and the rule of international law, resolving disputes by peaceful means, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and sustainable development in the region and the world.
