Mobilize to restore order and discipline in urban areas

Implementing the 90-day plan to restore urban order, Lao Cai Ward People's Committee has synchronously deployed many measures to rectify the order situation in the Station Square area.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Kim Ngoc Ward, said: "Immediately after having the plan, the ward established a working group to coordinate between the police force, the Urban Order Management Team and the residential group to review, inspect, propagate and handle violations such as encroaching on the sidewalk for business, stopping and parking in the wrong place, following and soliciting tourists ...".

During the peak period, the ward handled 8 cases of sidewalk encroachment, 3 cases of violations in vehicle rental activities, collecting more than 8.5 million VND for the budget. The campaigns were organized regularly, with the participation of many forces, creating a clear change in the awareness of people and business households about complying with urban order regulations.

Along with the handling work, the ward pays special attention to propaganda and raising people's awareness. The Department of Culture - Society coordinates with the Lao Cai - Cam Duong Regional Culture, Sports - Communication Center to organize many propaganda campaigns, mobilizing people and vehicle owners to strictly comply with traffic safety regulations, not to solicit, overcharge, or bother tourists. The ward's loudspeaker system regularly broadcasts the message "Each citizen is a tourism ambassador", contributing to building a civilized and friendly lifestyle in the community...

Tighten inspection and strictly handle violations

Along with the efforts of the local government, the Lao Cai ward police force plays a core role in maintaining security and order, ensuring traffic safety in the station area, where there are many people, a large number of vehicles and often domestic and foreign tourists.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Dinh Thang - Deputy Head of Lao Cai Ward Police affirmed: "After the propaganda and mobilization process, the ward police force will increase patrols and strictly handle violations of stopping and parking vehicles in violation of regulations; encroachment on corridors, sidewalks and roads on streets in the Lao Cai station area. The goal is to ensure the area is always airy, safe, creating a beautiful image in the eyes of tourists when coming to the ward".

The police force regularly coordinates with the Urban Order Management Team to control the situation, guide vehicles to park and stop in the right places, and reasonably regulate traffic flow, limiting local congestion, especially during rush hours. Behaviors of solicitation, price fraud, and taking advantage of large crowds to illegally increase prices are also thoroughly handled to ensure a fair and friendly tourism environment.

Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Ward People's Committee Hoang Kim Ngoc added: "The ward identifies the Station Square area as an important highlight in building the urban image. The ward is continuing to maintain the work of inspection, handling violations, combining propaganda and mobilizing people and business households to comply with regulations on using sidewalks and roads, contributing to building a "bright - green - clean - beautiful" and civilized urban area. At the same time, the ward's functional departments and offices will continue to improve the area's infrastructure from the green tree system, lighting, signs to reasonable stops and parking points to better serve the travel needs of people and tourists.

With the drastic participation of the government, police and people, Lao Cai station area is gradually changing its appearance, becoming a civilized and safe tourist gateway, showing the image of a dynamic and hospitable urban area, worthy of being a sympathetic stop for tourists when coming to Lao Cai.
